Everyone is welcome on Vintage Sake! No experience is necessary. Our team includes men and women of all ages in all levels of condition. You do not need to know how to swim.

During your first few practices, we will bench you toward the back of the boat, and seat you next to an experienced paddler. We rarely paddle for more than 5 minutes without taking a short rest. We switch sides halfway through the practice, so you work both sides. During your first few times out, we encourage you to drop out frequently and rest. Paddling uses different muscles and we don’t want you to overdo it as you are learning the sport.
We start out with a short warm-up then head down to the dock to load the boat. We bring a dry bag along for your keys, phone or extra clothes.

- We have a paddle and life jacket you can use.
- Neoprene gloves are helpful, but not necessary.
- You can wear your running shoes or other athletic shoes.
- A water bottle is handy.
- If it is sunny, don’t forget your sunglasses or hat.
- In the winter we wear rain gear.
You will need to fill out this waiver before you can get on the boat.
